Part II Tile 1. Syria {Damascus} A square stone paste tile painted in underglaze cobalt blue, turquoise and manganese purple. A central tree motif bisects the tile vertically and is flanked by stylized flowers. A repeat partial tree motif can be seen on each of the vertical edges.
