Part II Tile 6. Egypt or Syria. A square stone paste tile painted in underglaze cobalt blue, sage green and turquoise. A central cusped cartouche contains a floral spray outlined in black nestled in sage green serrated leaves, which is in turn, surrounded by a wreath of white serrated leaves. The whole reserved against a cobalt blue background with rosettes and leaves at the four corners. 16th century. 9.1 x 9.26in. {23.4 x 23.6 cm}. c.f. Feenan, Brigid.
